GREAT FALLS — Anita Jensen of Great Falls celebrated her 77th birthday on Friday - and she looked out her window on Friday morning, she saw pictures of her family peeking through the curtains.

The idea started because of the social distancing guidelines put into place, and her family wanted to find a way to celebrate her big day.

Her daughter Cindy Clark explained, "We wanted o get together for my mom's 77th birthday, and we were trying to figure out how we could do that with all the restrictions and COVID-19 and social distancing. We came up with this idea. My niece had done it for her mom's birthday, so my sister and I and my nieces, our whole family came together and sent pictures to us, and we decided to surprise my mom for her birthday this morning."

Cindy said of her mother, "Our mom has the biggest spirit, and feisty and ornery and loving, and family is everything to her."

She explained, "She was pretty surprised. My mom has been pretty sick these past few months, the day after Christmas we didn't know if she was going to make it, so the last four months have been a big struggle. My sister and nephew have truly nourished her back to health. Today was a super special day for all of us, and it's just beautiful outside, and we have a lot to be thankful for."
