GREAT FALLS — The Riverside Little League complex in Great Falls is working on installing new batting cages.

There will be two new cages, plus a new mound and pitching area immediately adjacent to the cages. The new cages will be available to all the programs who typically use the Riverside complex.

The complex hasn’t had a batting cage in about five years, but Riverside Little League president Zac Griffin said it’s part of a bigger revamp of the ballpark area and should be done by late next week.

“We're planning on being able to host some other tournaments here for the travel ball clubs. So that'll help with the batting cages,” Griffin said. “And then all the maintenance that we've done here in the last four years to the ballpark, it's improved 100 times fold than what it was before. So it's just making it an inviting area for kids to come play and families to get involved in Little League here in town.”

Riverside Little League posted on Facebook: "Special thank you to Austin Gifford, Jordan Hollern and The Yardist, Nick Gray and Gray Enterprises, and Ryan Zimmer!"

Little League Baseball has urged all local programs to pause baseball activity until at least May 11, but Griffin said signups for Riverside Little League are still open until May 10.
