GREAT FALLS — Two meetings will get underway later today (Thursday) involving marijuana. Starting in January, possession and use of small amounts of recreational marijuana will be available to people 21 and over, with a full roll-out possible by October.

From 4:30-6 p.m., Alliance For Youth will participate in a virtual meeting with state and local elected officials to talk about substance abuse in Great Falls. That’s expected to include discussion about the bills approved in the November 3 election, which legalized recreational marijuana in Montana.

The Cascade County Substance Abuse Prevention Alliance is conducting the "virtual summit." The summit will be on Zoom. For more information, visit the website, or call the agency at 406-952-0018.

At 5:30, Cascade County Commissioners will conduct a special meeting to hear public comments on rezoning proposals. Those proposals include expanding where medical marijuana dispensaries can locate.
