GREAT FALLS — On Sunday, Super 1 Foods was a one-stop shop for people in Great Falls hoping to provide for their household and those in need.

The World Mission Society Church of God was stationed outside Super 1 Foods collecting non-perishable donations for the Great Falls Community Food Bank.

During the event, those who gave got something in return, and shoppers were invited to enjoy outdoor games, activities and treats.

The church’s media manager, Jessie Beatty, says the church uses this fun approach to encourage the public to participate.

Last year, the event was quite successful, collecting around 418 pounds of food.

But Beatty says their goal is not just about hitting a donation number, but shining their light for others to see.

“You know, there's a saying that the world is becoming a very dark place. and to be able to be a lamp in that dark world is our goal,” Beatty said.

For those who would still like to participate in the food drive, donation barrels will be outside Super 1 Foods until late this evening.

Otherwise, donors can stop by the Great Falls Community Food Bank, located at 1620 12th Avenue North in Great Falls; click here to visit the food bank website.
