GREAT FALLS — Emergency crews are responding to a three-vehicle crash in Great Falls.

It happened just before noon on Wednesday near the intersection of 10th Avenue South and 15th Street.

There is no word at this point on whether anyone has been seriously injured, nor the cause of the crash.

The Great Falls Police Department posted the following message on Facebook at 12:13 p.m. "TRAFFIC ALERT! We are working with Great Falls Fire Rescue and Great Falls Emergency Services on a three vehicle injury crash on 10th Ave S. We have all westbound lanes blocked from 17th St to 15th St."

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible to allow crews room to work safely, and to expect traffic delays in the area.

We will update you if we get more information.

(UPDATE) As of 3:40 p.m., traffic in the area is still moving slow, as authorities continue to investigate the crash.

(UPDATE) A 51-year old man from Great Falls died in the crash. There were three vehicles involved, each with one driver and no passengers.

The man who died was eastbound straddling the median; when his vehicle came off the median, it hit a westbound vehicle, which then crashed into a third westbound vehicle.

Of the other two drivers, one sustained injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, and the other was not injured.

All westbound lanes of 10th Avenue South were closed for several hours as emergency crews worked to clear the scene and conduct the investigation.

The name of the man who died has not yet been released.

Authorities are investigating to determine if the driver had a medical condition that may have led to the crash, or if speed or alcohol were involved.
