GREAT FALLS — The Knights of Columbus were at St.Vincent de Paul thrift store Saturday handing out coats.
This is the 5th year the Knights have hosted this coat drive.
The drive helps to provide coats to others in need here in the Great Falls community.
According to their website The Knights was formed to render financial aid to members and their families.
People from all over donated so others can have a warm coat.
Great Falls Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus John Gort has seen the demand rising in the community.
“Like 300 kids that are homeless in Great Falls so yeah there is always a need for coats”.
Their website also states the organization has grown from serveral members in once council to 15,342 councils and 1.9 million members throughout the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba, Guatemala, Guam, Saipan, Lithuania, Ukraine and South Korea.
