GREAT FALLS — Emergency crews responded to the scene of a reported two-vehicle crash just west of Great Falls.
The crash was reported to the Montana Highway Patrol at 11:46 a.m. on Thursday.
The crash involved a dump truck that was attempting to turn off of the Vaughn South Frontage Road.
The driver of the other vehicle failed to recognize the dump truck was turning and attempted to pass a flatbed truck as well as the dump truck.
The pickup struck the dump truck and went off the approach, going airborne about 20 feet and landed in the ditch.
The driver of the pick up was transported to Benefis and will be released with minor injuries.
A witness, Nicholai Spaulding, tells us that road was briefly closed in both directions.
MHP has since confirmed part of the road was blocked but both lanes are now open.
The driver has been cited for improper passing, as well as not wearing his seat belt.
