GREAT FALLS — While the recent drop in temperatures might have caught some off guard, the Great Falls Rescue mission is fully prepared for the winter weather ahead.

Great Falls Rescue Mission Executive Director, Jim McCormick says they have been collecting donations for upcoming clothing and coat drives to help keep residents of the rescue mission warm.

When the temperatures drop this low they try not to turn anyone away as long as they have room.

“I think it’s 32 degrees for most of the buildings. If it gets colder than that, then we do cold weather services where if someone was suspended because they didn’t want to follow our rules or broke our rules, or they were not trying to live here in a safe and orderly manner then we will still let them back in,” says McCormick.

They will be providing extra room and beds if there are those in need of somewhere to stay as the temperatures dip through the weekend.

The Great Falls Rescue Mission thrift store offers low-cost winter garments for those in Great Falls who are looking to stay warm.
