1 person dead, 3 seriously injured in crash near Philipsburg

(UPDATE) Granite County Sheriff Scott Dunkerson says that Arian Flanders of Anaconda, 31 years old, died as a result of blunt force trauma.



(1st Report, 8:45 a.m.) One person died in a Sunday afternoon crash near Philipsburg.

Granite County Sheriff Scott Dunkerson says the crash happened at about 4:25 p.m. on Montana Highway 1 at Flint Creek Pass.

One person died at the scene, and three people were flown to area hospitals for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash, according to Sheriff Dunkerson.

The Granite County Sheriff’s Office and the Montana Highway Patrol are investigating the accident.

The name of the person who died has not yet been released.
