(UPDATE, 5:30 pm) A 16-year-old died and a 14-year-old girl was injured in a two-vehicle crash at the corner of Rimrock Road and Virginia Lane in Billings on Tuesday.

The two teenagers were in a small passenger car on Virginia Lane trying to turn right onto Rimrock Road when their vehicle was hit by a Dodge pickup truck that was heading east on Rimrock Road.

It happened at around 3:45 p.m., according to Billings Police Sgt. Bret Becker.

Becker said he did not believe anyone in the pickup truck was injured. The driver of the pickup did go to the hospital to consent to a blood draw, he said.

Rimrock Road will remain closed from Virginia Lane to Normal Avenue for several hours as police continue to investigate.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the teen that died. We will update you when we get more information.

(1st Report) A crash closed Rimrock Road between Virginia Lane and Normal Avenue in both directions Tuesday afternoon.

Billings police advised finding an alternative route.
