Authorities identify victim of crash west of Missoula

MISSOULA – Authorities have released the name of the man who died in a Friday evening crash west of Missoula.

Mark D. Roberts, 40, of Missoula, died in the single-vehicle crash that happened on Mullan Road, according to Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott.

Authorities said Roberts drifted across the road, went into a ditch, hit a tree and then a storage building. The vehicle also crashed into a parked trailer and a Ford Ranger pickup truck.

Law enforcement told MTN News the victim was not wearing his seat belt and add that drugs and alcohol are suspected factors.

The Montana Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

(July 6, 2019) A 40-year-old Missoula man died in a single-vehicle crash on Friday night.

The crash happened near mile marker 3.7 on Mullan Road shortly before 10:30 p.m.

Authorities say the driver drifted across the road and continued off the road into a ditch. The vehicle then hit a tree and then a storage building. The vehicle also crashed into a parked trailer and a Ford Ranger pickup truck.

Law enforcement told MTN News that the victim was not wearing his seatbelt and added that drugs and alcohol are suspected to have played a role in the accident.

The Montana Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the crash.
