MISSOULA — The Montana Highway Patrol responded to a crash near Bigfork on Saturday afternoon that left one man dead.
MHP reports that a 51-year-old male was driving north on Crane Mountain Road when he missed a curve.
The driver over-corrected his vehicle several times, and went off the side of the road, hitting a tree head-on.
MHP responded to the scene at around 4:35 p.m.
The driver, a Bigfork resident, died at the scene.
Officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt. Speed and alcohol were also suspected factors in the crash.
The man's name has not yet been released. There is no word at this point if there were any passengers.
