Missing woman found dead in Big Horn County; police suspect homicide

BILLINGS — Police say that a woman who was reported missing has been found dead, and her case is now being investigated as a homicide.

According to the Billings Police Department, officers responded at around 9:20 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, to a report of a missing 35-year-old woman identified as Shawna Katherine Grove, also known as Shawna Katherine Hart.

During the investigation, detectives gathered information that led them to a vehicle believed to be connected to Grove. The vehicle was later found in Big Horn County, where Grove was found dead inside.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding her death but confirmed the case is being investigated as a homicide. They did not identify a suspect.

A friend told MTN News the disappearance was related to domestic violence.
