MISSOULA — A 21-year-old man from Plains in western Montana died in a rollover crash on Wednesday near Roundup just before 8 p.m.

Montana Highway Patrol dispatch said the man, whose name has not been released, was driving a Chevrolet 4500 pickup truck east on U.S. Highway 12.

The truck went off the road on the right side and when the driver tried to correct the vehicle, he lost control. The truck then went off the left side of the road and overturned.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene.

A 28-year-old passenger from Royalton, Minnesota, who also wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was injured and taken to Billings Clinic; the nature and extent of that person's injuries has not been released.

MHP reports no other vehicles were involved, and that alcohol, drugs, and speed are not suspected factors in the crash.
