GREAT FALLS — The Whitefish Police Department is investigating after three women reportedly collapsed or lost consciousness at a bar over the weekend.

According to a news release from the agency, it happened in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 27. Three female customers at Casey’s Bar in Whitefish were taken to North Valley Hospital after collapsing or losing consciousness.

The three women did not know each other, according to police, and were treated and released.

The only known substance detected through the initial investigation is alcohol. Evidence has been submitted to the Montana State Crime Lab for analysis.

The three women and staff at Casey’s are cooperating in the investigation.

Casey’s said in a Facebook post on Wednesday morning: "This past Saturday night, there were multiple incidents of the criminal use of a “date rape” drug at our establishment. We are coordinating our efforts with the Whitefish Police Department and are confident WPD will apprehend the perpetrator(s). If you have any information regarding these crimes, please contact WPD directly."

The Whitefish Police Department said that "due to unsubstantiated information on social media," they will provide additional and accurate information once the investigation is completed.
