MISSOULA — The shooting of a man is being investigated in Lincoln County.
Lincoln County Sheriff Darren Short says law enforcement officers responded to a "domestic disturbance with weapons involved" at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday. While law enforcement was on scene the man involved in the disturbance was shot by law enforcement.
The man was taken by ambulance to Cabinet Peaks Medical Center before being flown to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
The name of the man who was shot has not been released at this point, and there is no word on his current condition.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident, while an investigative team from the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and the Kalispell Police Department is investigating the shooting.
"The deputy involved has been placed on paid administrative leave until the investigation is completed,” Sheriff Short said in a news release.
