Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun that killed a woman on a movie set in New Mexico, authorities say.

Halyna Hutchins, 42, was flown to UNM Hospital in Albuquerque, where she was pronounced dead Thursday. The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office identifies Hutchins as the director of photography for the movie "Rust."

Joel Souza, the movie's director, was also injured in the shooting, the sheriff's office said. He was being treated at a hospital in Santa Fe.

"Rust" is being filmed at Bonanza Creek Ranch, near Santa Fe.

The sheriff's office says no charges have been filed at this point, and the incident is still being investigated.

"Rust" is set in the 1880s, and follows the life of a 13-year-old boy who goes on the run with his grandfather who killed a rancher, according to IMDB.
