Joan Alaine Le Suer Cornell, 55, of Sun River, MT, went into the loving arms of Jesus on March 22, 2020, due to complications from ALS. Services will be held at a later date as a result of current events.

Joan was born on August 20, 1964, in Billings, MT, to Blaine and Lorella Le Suer. She was the youngest of three girls. She spent most of her early childhood in Beaverton, OR, and made frequent visits to Cannon Beach, her place of solace throughout her life.

In 1971, the family moved to Great Falls, MT. In her youth, she was an avid softball player and was an All-Star for the Upper Southside Softball League. Joan graduated from Great Falls High School in 1982. After high school, she attended Northern Montana College in Havre, where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. At Northern, she also met the love of her life, Dan Cornell. They were married June 28, 1985. They had four loving daughters.

Joan was known in life for her true kindness, gentle spirit, humility, and compassion.

Joan’s compassion was displayed in her work as a nurse in the ICU and as a wife and mother. Her humility was evident as she quietly loved those around her. Her gentleness in the way she shaped the lives of the people she loved, her kindness to every one she met. Her love for nurturing life was displayed in caring for her flock of sheep and tending to her flower gardens.
