Snow continues to pile up in Great Falls and temperatures remain frigid this February.

Here’s a look at some updated statistics for February 2019.

According to the National Weather Service, as of 11 a.m. on February 25, Great Falls has received 26.5 inches for the month.

The record snowfall for the month of February is 32.6 inches, which was set in 2011 and was also tied in 2018.

Nineteen out of 25 days so far this month have received at least a trace amount of snowfall.

The current snow depth in Great Falls currently is over a foot.

Usually we get Chinook winds, which warms us up and melts the snow. Last time, we saw those Chinook winds was on February 2, 2019. That day our high temperature was 55 degrees.

Everyday since then has been below freezing and eight of those days the high temperatures have been below zero.

The coldest minimum temperature recorded so far this month in Great Falls was -23 F on February 7.

The number of consecutive days where the maximum temperature remained below freezing (32 F) is 31 days starting on 1/15/1929. So far, we have gone 22 days below freezing, which puts us in 6th place.

The lowest average temperature for the month of February is -5.2 F set in 1936.

As of February 25, the average temperature for February 2019 is 0.4 degrees Fahrenheit in Great Falls, which keeps us still on track to finish 2nd coldest February of all time.
