Happy October! While there may have been some areas of Montana with a bit more cloud cover than desired on Thursday, there's plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures on the way through the weekend. Friday will turn partly cloudy with a very isolated rain shower or thunderstorm across eastern Montana. Highs will warm into the 70s with a west wind gusting up to 20-30mph. The first weekend of October is looking absolutely spectacular with plentiful sunshine and temperatures rising above average in the 60s and 70s with light wind. Some places in the state may hit 80 on Monday! There does not appear to be much in the way of cold air, rain, or snow coming to Montana through next week. Things may get a little stormy over Columbus Day Weekend.
Over the next few days, prescribed burns by the Forest Service will produce large smoke columns south of Helena.
Have a great day!
