Temperatures trend well above average this week with more smoke on the horizon.

The wind will remain brisk again today with occasional gusts around 20 mph at times.

High temperatures this afternoon are expected to remain above average, reaching the mid to high 70s for most.

The dry air, strong wind, and warmer than average temperatures will keep the fire danger high throughout Central Montana.

Slightly stronger wind and even hotter temperatures are expected on Tuesday.

The fire danger will once again be elevated on Tuesday due to more wind and even hotter temperatures.

Highs on Tuesday are expected in the upper 70s and low 80s for most of the state.

Temperatures will continue to fluctuate until we near the weekend.

An aggressive cold front and area of low pressure is expected to move in over the weekend.

This system is expected to bring much cooler temperatures and rain early next week.
