The elements needed to kick off severe weather will be present this afternoon.

Before the storms roll in, highs are expected to reach the mid 70s for Central Montana and high 80s for Eastern Montana.

Around the noon hour a cold front is expected to begin moving into Central Montana. This will be met head on by rather humid air. These among other elements are what are needed to instigate the strong storms.

The strongest storms are expected to form just east of Lewistown and from there, they are expected to track toward Glasgow. Large hail, damaging wind, and heavy downpours are very likely with the passage of these storms. Keep and eye to the sky this afternoon as severe weather is very likely.

A few lingering showers are possible along the Hi-Line on Wednesday as this system moves out of the region.

Dry and hot weather conditions are on track to return by Thursday.

A few isolated storms are once again possible on Friday, however at this point they aren't looking overly significant.

Hot and dry weather will then take us through the weekend.
