Strong westerly wind will continue Wednesday morning before finally letting up this afternoon.

An incoming cold front is on track to pass through the state this afternoon, likely causing a brief round of rain and snow.

This system will help to settle down the wind, however much cooler air will be left to follow.

Temperatures will remain a bit cooler on Thursday with most of our area reaching the high 40s.

Significant changes are expected on Friday as an aggressive weather system moves in that afternoon.

This system allow for much colder air to settle in across the state and bring heavy snow to the region.

Most of North Central Montana will likely pick up over six inches of snow, with the mountains seeing as much as 18 inches.

The snow is expected into Saturday before finally letting up and the significantly colder temperatures will last well into next week.
