A DENSE FOG ADVISORY is in effect until 12pm Saturday for portions of southwestern Montana, including the Helena Valley. Visibility is going to be below a quarter mile at times.

Please use extreme caution when driving tonight and tomorrow morning as roads are going to be slick/icy in a lot of locations due to the wintry mix of precipitation that we saw last night and today and due to the fact that any moisture on the roadways is going to freeze tonight as temperatures are going to be below freezing in most locations. There are also going to be areas of fog around tonight and tomorrow morning, especially in the valleys and along portions of the Hi-Line, so reduced visibility is another thing that you may have to deal with if you are going to be traveling anywhere.

Outside of the fog, we are going to have decreasing clouds tonight and partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies tomorrow. It is also going to be cold tonight in northeastern Montana as lows are going to be in the single digits, and it is going to be chilly tonight everywhere else as lows are going to be in the teens and 20s. For tomorrow, it is going to be chilly in northeastern Montana as highs are going to be in the 20s and it is going to be cool everywhere else as highs are going to be in the 30s and low to mid 40s. There is also going to be a breeze around in some areas tonight and tomorrow as sustained wind speeds are going to be between 10 and 25 mph, and wind gusts up to 40 mph are going to be possible at times.

On Sunday, we are going to have partly cloudy skies with a few scattered snow showers around during the evening around the Helena area as a disturbance begins to approach our area. We are then going to have partly cloudy skies and mainly dry conditions on Monday as this disturbance leaves our area. We are also going to have pleasant temperatures on these two days as highs are going to be in the 30s and low to mid 40s in most locations (20s in northeastern Montana). There is also going to be a little bit of a breeze around on these two days as sustained wind speeds are going to be between 5 and 20 mph.

We are then going to have a chance to see some rain and snow showers on Tuesday, generally in the mountains around the Helena area, as a disturbance begins to approach our area. There are then going to be some scattered snow and rain showers around Tuesday night and Wednesday as this disturbance passes through our area. We are also going to have mostly cloudy skies on Tuesday and decreasing clouds on Wednesday.

There is also going to be a little bit of a breeze around on Tuesday and Wednesday as sustained wind speeds are going to be between 5 and 20 mph. We are also going to continue to have pleasant temperatures on these two days as highs are going to be in the 30s and low to mid 40s in most locations (20s along portions of the Hi-Line).

Partly to mostly cloudy skies and dry conditions are then expected on Thursday and Friday as high pressure is going to be in control of our weather. It is also going to feel nice outside on these two days as highs are going to be in the 30s and 40s. There is also going to be a breeze around in some areas on these two days as sustained wind speeds are going to be between 10 and 20 mph.
