Today was a beautiful day across the area with temperatures getting above freezing for many. Breezy conditions caused some blowing and drifting snow in some areas, while others saw a nice warm up with abundant sunshine. Those areas that saw snow melt today will re-freeze as the sun goes down this evening. Those traveling or commuting will want to be cautious of icy roads and even if you're on foot, watch out for icy sidewalks.

The next big story will be the wind. Several High Wind highlights have been issued for the area beginning Saturday Night and lasting through Late Monday. Most areas within the watch will see gusts between 60-70 mph. Wind prone areas along the Continental Divide could even see some isolated gusts to 90 mph.

The winds will warm temperatures to near 50 for many locations on Monday before another disturbance moves through the region.

The next system will give us another opportunity for snow showers as we head into the middle of next week. Temperatures will drop to near freezing for our daytime highs with our lows in the teens. We'll be monitoring that system as it approaches, so stay tuned for more details as they become available.
