Temperatures continue to trend well above average with highs reaching the low 80s this afternoon.

Strong wind and low humidity levels will heighten the fire danger once again throughout Central Montana.

Wind gusts around 30 mph are likely for a good portion of the state today.

A Fire Weather Warning will go into effect this afternoon due to the high fire danger.

Slightly cooler temperatures are on track to return on Wednesday as a pocket of cooler air slides into the state.

However, temperatures are expected to quickly rebound back to the upper 70s and low 80s on Thursday.

A decent weather maker is on track to move in this weekend.

This system will begin to drop temperatures on Saturday, allowing for highs to remain in the low 60s.

Rain with a dose of mountain snow is expected Saturday evening into Sunday with the passage of a cold front.

A few lingering flurries are expected over the mountains on Sunday with drier conditions in the plains.

Still cooler temperatures will follow the passage of this front with highs eventually falling to the upper 50s by Monday.
