GREAT FALLS — On Sunday, MOD Pizza and the Great Falls Rescue Mission are using foods for funds to satisfy customer’s hunger needs and the rescue mission's financial needs with a single slice.
For anyone who mentions the Great Falls Rescue Mission while ordering, MOD Pizza will donate 20 percent of customer’s meal costs to the nonprofit.
The fundraiser is at MOD Pizza at 1125 10th Avenue South, begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday and goes until 9:00 p.m.
The Great Falls Rescue Mission is funded entirely through fundraisers like this one, as they don't receive any government funding.
During the freezing winter months, the money from one meal at a fundraiser like today's can help support the more than 450 meals the mission serves on a daily basis.
According to the rescue mission website, $1.89 can provide 1 meal to a person in need.
That means every $10 spent is more than enough to cover the cost of 1 meal.
