DISABILITY CELEBRATION
Great Falls ADA and Disability Celebration Picnic on Monday July 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be at Elks Riverside Park. Food, games, and fun. We will also have a table set up with great resources. Please bring a lawn chair as seating is limited. RSVP to Shyla Patera at 406-452-9834 ext #9, or spatera@ncils.org. Event is organized by North Central Independent Living Services Inc. and Disability Rights Montana.

HEALTHY COOKING CLASSES
Please join me for a FREE nine (9) lesson series that follows the Eating Smart Being Active (ESBA) curriculum and teaches participants to use an electric pressure cooker at Fresh Rescue Kitchen on Thursdays, July 24 - September 25, 2025, from 11:30 - 2:30. Lesson topics cover meal planning ideas, easy food prep practices, and healthy, simple tips to stretch food dollars. Additional lesson topics include suggestions for quick meals and snacks using food choices from each food group. Each class consists of discussion, preparing and sampling a recipe, and a movement activity adaptable to any physical ability. The in-person class series meets for 9 lessons. BACKPACK GIVEAWAY
Verizon-Cellular Plus in Great Falls is giving away FREE BACKPACKS filled with school supplies on Saturday, August 2, from 10am to noon. No purchase necessary - this is a gift from us to our students. Register to WIN a Verizon Gizmo Watch 3! No purchase is required. If you want to help, we’re also collecting donations in-store. Everything we receive will go directly to kids in our community. Important: A child must be present with an adult to receive a free backpack. Supplies are limited and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. One backpack per student. Cellular Plus has 2 locations in Great Falls: At 1000 10th Avenue S, in the mall parking lot between PetSmart and Cafe Rio; And at 701 3rd Street NW, across from the Fairgrounds and next to Stockman Bank.

FUNFEST
The annual Lion’s Family FunFest will be on Saturday, August 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Lions Park (10th Avenue South and 27th Street). The event is being hosted by the Great Falls Lions Clubs and Great Falls Park and Recreation. The event is FREE to all participants thanks to the generosity of the Lions Clubs in Great Falls (Great Falls Lions Club and Sunrise Lions) and numerous local donors. It is the perfect event for families, neighbors, and friends to gather for a day filled with fun, food, entertainment, and celebration, with a special appearance by Louie the Lion, the Lions Club mascot.

MAMMOTH HUNT
People can experience what it’s like to throw atlatls and tomahawks and to shoot primitive bows and arrows during the annual Mammoth Hunt event at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park. The free event takes place on Saturday, August 9, and Sunday, August 10, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, click here. First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park is 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off Interstate 15 at Exit 270.

TOUCH A TRUCK
The fifth annual Touch-a-Truck on Saturday, August 16, will be our best event yet. It will be from 9am to 1pm along Central Avenue in downtown Great Falls. Join the Junior League of Great Falls as we bring together dozens of businesses and individuals who build, serve, and protect our community so your kids can get up close to their favorite vehicles and machinery while partaking in fun activities. GRIEF SHARE
A GriefShare grief support group for people grieving the death of a loved one is starting soon. Please join us August 18 at 10:00 AM or 7:00 PM at 908 47th Street South in Great Falls. For more information, contact Diana Greytak 406-399-5744or visit griefshare.org.

TNT POKER RUN
This is a fundraiser for the Great Falls Tenacious Dames, an all women's motorcycle riding club and the Grace Haven Women's Veteran's center. The fun starts on August 23 at 9:30 am. We share this event with Tuffy's Motor Inn at 48 Sun Prairie Road, Great Falls, MT and that is where we meet. There will be a poker run, 50/50, and raffles during the day. Food trucks and Willie's Distillery will be there for additional nourishment. In the evening the Melissa Dascoulias Band will be playing for your entertainment! GOLF TOURNAMENT
2-person scramble charity golf tournament on August 23 at Anaconda Hills, Great Falls, MT. Shot gun start at 8:30. Prime Rib dinner after event at The Do. Funds raised from tournament helps Uptown Optimist Club of Great Falls fund their Children's Health, Wellness & Cancer Campaign. For more information, call 406-750-0415.

SAM STEFFAN MEMORIAL RUN
The inaugural Sam Steffan Memorial Run be on September 6, kicking off at Big Sky Harley Davidson (4258 10th Avenue South) at 9am with a biker breakfast. Sam was a real power house within the motorcycle world and he had a deep devotion to children. This memorial run will benefit Eagle Mount Great Falls that provides services to the children of our community. There will be an all-day silent auction put on by Eagle Mount Great Falls at Big Sky Harley, poker run, 50/50’s, food, non-host bar and dj music. For more information, click here.

SMART DRIVER COURSE
The AARP Smart Driver course is a four-hour session designed for drivers 50 and older. The theme of the course is change. Changes in vehicles, roadways, and changes affecting older drivers. Participants will learn how to adjust to changes that affect older drivers, as well as defensive driving techniques. Completion of the course can provide discounts on your auto insurance. The cost of the course is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members. The course will be held on September 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Cascade County Aging Services, 1801 Benefis Court. GOLF TOURNAMENT
