Children all over Great Falls experienced an educational Sunday as all 10 museums in town opened their doors to the public for free for the annual Great Falls Museums Consortium Sunday Sampler Scavenger Hunt.
Families had to visit three of the 10 museums and then answer a question about that particular museum.
If answered correctly, the visitor received a stamp and credit.
“We’re really geared towards getting them into our museums and seeing what we have to offer,” said Melissa Werber, C.M. Russell Museum Education Coordinator. “By making it a free day, having them search for something, it really gives them an idea of what we do and some of the fun things they can see if they get out to our museums.”
There was also a selfie contest for the adults using the hashtag Sunday Sampler Selfie.
The scavenger hunt wrapped up at 5 p.m., but don’t worry if you missed it this year—it’ll be held again in April next year.
The 10 participating museums included Montana Museums of Railroad History, Children’s Museum of Montana, C.M. Russell Museum, Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art, Malmstrom Air Force Base Museum, Ursuline Retreat, Conference Centre and Museum, Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center, The History Museum, the Galerie Trinitas, and The First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park and National Historic Landmark.
