Colored powder was thrown at runners as they raced to end violence for the fifth annual End Violence Color Run in Conrad on Sunday.

The 5K run was originally set for April 8, but was rescheduled due to snowy conditions.

The Color Run is held each year to put an end to all types of violence including domestic and child abuse.

The run also helps Hi-Line’s Help for Abused Spouses raise money for their nonprofit organization.

Advocate Samantha Rainville said people run to support the organization, which is important.

“I mean, I can’t speak for the runners of why they came out, you know, if they have been victimized by domestic abuse in their past, but for us, this is what we do. This is helps fund what we do in helping those domestic violence and sexual assault victims," Rainville said.

Trophies were given to the first female, male, and child who crossed the finish line.

If you or someone you know is in an abusive situation, you can call the 24-hour crisis and support hotline at 1-800-219-7336 or Hi-Line’s Help’s office at 406-278-3342.
