Community Connection: GFPS update from Tammy Lacey

Great Falls Public Schools Superintendent Tammy Lacey stopped by KRTV to talk about a number of upcoming events in the district this month.

Both drama departments at C.M. Russell and Great Falls High Schools will be hosting performances in May. CMR’s "A Night of One Acts" takes place May 3-5 in the Bill Williamson Hall Auditorium and starts at 7:30 p.m. For tickets and more information, call (406) 268-6117.

Great Falls High’s "Leading Ladies" takes place over two weekends: curtain times are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 and Friday, May 4 with a 2:00 p.m. showing on Saturday, May 5th. The following weekend curtain times are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10 and Friday, May 11 with a 2:00 p.m. performance on Saturday, May 12. For tickets and more information call (406) 268-6354.

Lacey says the district is hosting a Youth Pow Wow, which takes place at Montana Expo Park’s Exhibition Hall Saturday, May 12th from 1:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Grand Entries take place at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with the Elders Feed at 4:00 p.m. Information about the event from the GFPS website is below:

Lacey also talked about the GFH/CMR High School Open House, which takes place May 17th at 4:00 at 2108 6th Ave. S. Students have partnered with Neighborworks Great Falls to build the house over the school year. Lacey touched on the $1.35 million school levy that is on the May 8th ballot and encouraged everyone to vote; she says if passed, the levy will maintain current programs. For more information on the levy, visit
