The Sun River in Cascade County is receding after rising above the flood stage on Saturday.

On Sunday around 10:30 a.m., the water no longer covered a part of Sun River Cascade Road in Sun River.

People in that area, however, should not let their guards down yet as the river is forecasted to rise to 8.2 feet between Sunday and Monday of next week.

The flood stage for Sun River is 7.5 feet.

Smith River outside of Ulm is also showing signs of improvement.

It crested at 6.5 feet last Friday and is forecasted to continue to go down for the rest of the week.

There is still a flood advisory for that river.

We’ll continue to keep you updated.
