Steve Olson with the Steve Olson Orchestra stopped by KRTV to talk about the group’s upcoming 2018 Summer Celebration, "Sousa Spectacular".
The event takes place Friday, July 13 at C.M. Russell High School Auditorium, located at 28 17th Ave. NW and still start at 7:30 p.m.
Olson says the orchestra will perform pieces composed by America’s "March King", John Philip Sousa. The Steve Olson Orchestra will be performing 11 of the 137 marches, including America’s march, The Stars and Stripes Forever, The Gladiator, and The Glory of the Yankee Navy.
The concert is free to attend, but the public is encouraged to bring a canned food donation that will benefit the Great Falls Community Food Bank, or a tax deductible donation to the Steve Olson Orchestra Scholarship.
Olson says in their three years together, the orchestra has been able to award $2,800 in scholarships to graduating seniors.
