(GREAT FALLS) The trial of Stanley Patrick Weber, a physician who once practiced in Browning, has been postponed until next month.
Weber is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child, attempted sexual abuse of a minor, and abusive sexual contact of a minor.
During the final pretrial conference hearing on Monday, unforeseen issues arose over the weekend and the trial that was set for Monday will now be on September 4th. The nature of the issues that prompted the delay has not been disclosed.
The alleged incidents happened between 1992 and 1995 with two juvenile male victims.
According to court documents, Weber was a pediatrician for the U.S. Public Health Service and Indian Health Service for more than 20 years. He was assigned to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation from 1992 until July of 1995.
Court documents state that Weber made it known to medical personnel that he preferred to treat adolescent children.
He would conduct after-hours patient visits at the hospital and community outreach services for young males.
He would also host boys at his home by providing food, snacks, soda, candy, video games, and on occasion, alcohol.
Court documents state he would even give some of the boys that come to his home gifts.
Weber met the first alleged victim when he was 10 or 11 years old.
He would tell the victim that if he engaged in sexual acts, Weber would help him get back to his parents.
The second victim was about 13 years old when he would go over to Weber’s house.
Court documents state that Weber made several sexual advances toward the second victim.
In July of 1995, Weber was transferred to South Dakota.
Court documents detail two other victims that Weber had encountered while he was working in South Dakota.
