Janet Enloe, Secretary and Board Member of the Monarch Neihart Historical Group (MNHG) stopped by KRTV to talk about the upcoming Monarch Rocks! Festival, which takes place on Saturday, August 11 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
The annual event is a fundraiser for the MNHG, and will be set up on Cascade Avenue in Monarch, which is about 45 miles southeast of Great Falls on U.S. Highway 89.
The festival is free of charge and the whole family is welcome. Donations benefit MNHG projects, including the restoration of the 1902 Great Northern Railway Depot, along with raising funds to construct a fire bell tower that will house the Neihart fire alarm bell.
The festival will focus on highlighting the area’s history with tours of the Depot and Drover Car Caboose. The day will also feature The History Table, which will be staffed with longtime residents that share their memories and life stories from growing up in the mining town.
Vendors will be selling homemade crafts and food will be provided by the Branding Iron Cafe from White Sulphur Springs. Music will be provided by Greg Kinder.
