Paula Ramstead, the resident of the home, believes the cause of the fire may be suspicious.
She says that she was brutally assaulted by her common-law husband John Nerud back in December, and he has not been living there since then. She said that in recent weeks, several items have been stolen from her home.
Nerud was recently placed on the most "most wanted" list by Great Falls/Cascade County Crimestoppers; the listing for Nerud states:
"Wanted on: Violation of Bail Condition on Strangulation of Partner or Family Member, felony, Partner or Family Member Assault, 3rd or subsequent offense, felony, Aggravated Assault, felony, total bond $25,000."
There are Cascade County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene, and we also received reports that a US Marshal is there.
The American Red Cross is at the scene to provide assistance to Ramstead.

(1st Report, 11:02 a.m.) Firefighters are at the scene of a garage fire in Sun Prairie.
The fire was reported just before 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday on Eisenhower Avenue.
Initial reports indicate that everybody inside the home escaped, and there have been no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Responding firefighting agencies include Black Eagle, Montana Air National Guard, and Vaughn.
