We are tracking storms this afternoon as they start to develop over our Southwest area.
These storms will be isolated, but some may become severe by the afternoon.
Some of the storms will have erratic/gusty wind, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and even a chance of dry thunderstorms is possible.
All of these play factors into sparking new wildfires, and any wildfire that are started or already exist will spread rapidly under these conditions.
Temperatures today climb into the mid to low 90’s and haze still sticks around.
Air quality levels are lowered across all of Montana this afternoon due to the wildfire smoke that will stick around from the major wildfires burning across our region.
We continue to see rain through the entire weekend.
Those will mostly be afternoon and night showers and storms- very typical of summer weather.
We will cool off significantly by Saturday with highs in the 70’s for the weekend.
