(1st Report, 8:01 p.m.) 6th Street NW is blocked between Northwest Bypass and Smelter by law enforcement officers.
Several Great Falls Police Department officers, at least one Montana Highway Patrol trooper, and a Great Falls Fire Rescue vehicle are blocking access.
KRTV began receiving reports of the incident at about 7:20 p.m. on Monday.
Officers have declined to release any information about what is happening, but are advising people to avoid the area until the situation is resolved.
We are working to find out what is happening.
(UPDATE, 8:55 p.m.) The scene has been cleared, and the road is now open.
We are trying to get information from the GFPD about the situation.
We have not been able to confirm whether any gunshots were fired.
(UPDATE, 9:54 p.m.) According to GFPD, at 7:09 p.m. officers responded to a call from a woman of a man with a gun.
GFPD located the woman, and she said the man had left, and they found him at a different location
The man was detained and is being interview by GFPD.
GFPD hasn’t determined yet if any charges will filed.
A firearm was recovered.
No one was injured and the neighborhood is not considered to be threatened at this time, according to the GFPD.
