The Montana Federal Credit Union, located on 14th Street South and Central Avenue, officially broke ground on an expansion project late last week.
This expansion will nearly triple the size of the current building.
Dick Anderson Construction is the general contractor on the project, working with CTA Architects Engineers along with the Adrenaline Group.
President and CEO Steve King said they are currently at maximum capacity in their branches in terms of staffing. The expansion will allow for consolidating certain departments and allow staffing growth in the future.
Montana Federal Credit Union Vice President of Marketing Becky Timmons said, “We’ll be bringing some of those core back office department under one roof.”
The expansion will also allow them to have a nice training facility for the staff.
Timmons added, “I think it’s a huge resource. We’re literally investing in the heart of the community. We believe in Great Falls, you know there’s a need for low-cost financial alternatives for community members and so we’re happy to be here and have a presence.”
In addition to the construction of the expansion, they will also be renovating the interior of the current building.
They are anticipating that all construction will be wrapped up by the fall of 2019.
