GREAT FALLS — Wolf Point Public Schools announced on Tuesday that all schools will be closed for at least one week beginning Wednesday, September 2nd.
The closure is due to a student testing positive for COVID-19.
The Roosevelt County Health Department and Indian Health Services are investigating to determine how and when the student contracted the virus.
Public health officials are performing contact tracing in order to notify anyone the student may have been in close contact with recently.
The school district said that schools will not be open for student instruction until Monday, September 14, in order to allow sanitization of every building.
In addition, they announced that all activities and games will be shut down the rest of the week.
According to the official Montana COVID Response website, there have been 43 confirmed COVID cases in Roosevelt County; of those, ten are currently active, 32 have recovered, and one person has died.
