A Fort Peck man who is accused of stealing money from a youth program has changed his plea in federal court.
Willard Wilson White III pleaded guilty to wire fraud and income tax evasion Monday.
He will have to pay $40,000 in restitution to the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes.
Court documents state the money was intended to start a Youth Diversion Program. Instead, White used the money at casinos, restaurants, bars, a strip club, and furniture stores.
In 2015, White owed more federal income tax than was declared, according to court documents.
He will have to pay the IRS $18,050 in restitution.
Per a plea agreement, the theft from an Indian tribal organization charge will be dismissed at sentencing, which was set for September 25.
