Great Falls man charged with threatening and assaulting a woman and her child

GREAT FALLS — Kyle Patrick Ramon has been charged with several felonies and misdemeanors after allegedly threatening and assaulting a woman and her child in Great Falls.

On December 18, according to the charging documents, Ramon pointed a gun at the woman's head and said "I should just kill you." Court documents then state that last week, Ramon had several guns near him and told the 3-year old child that he should kill her mother. He also slapped the child in the face.

The woman recounted several other examples of Ramon threatening and assaulting her earlier this year, including attempted strangulation.

Ramon has previously been charged with intimidation and carrying a concealed weapon, He pleaded guilty to the intimidation charge and received a deferred sentence. He successfully completed Veteran's Treatment Court.

The court documents note that just prior to that, he was charged with carrying a concealed handgun; when he was arrested, he was involved in a brief stand-off with police.

Ramon, 31 years old, has been charged with the following felonies: assault on a minor; assault with a weapon (2); strangulation of a partner or family member. He has also been charged with the following misdemeanors: partner/family member assault (2).

For the current charges, prosecutors requested that bail for Ramon be set at $150,000 based on "the danger to the victim and the community posed by the defendant's conduct." In addition, prosecutors requested a "no contact" order with the victim, and asked that if Ramon is released, he be subject to GPS monitoring.
