Lyndsee Colette Brewer was arrested in Miles City on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, in connection with the murder of Christopher Arthur Wetzstein of Sidney.

The Sidney Police Department said in a news release that Brewer, 51 years old, was arrested in connection with the homicide of Wetzstein, 50, whom police said was her friend and business associate.

On January 28, 2022, police officers in Sidney conducted a welfare check on Wetzstein, who had failed to show up for work. The officers found him dead in his bed; an autopsy determined that he had died of a gunshot wound to his head, and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Brewer matched the description of a "suspicious person" seen on surveillance video from Wetzstein's apartment building.

A search warrant was executed at Brewer's home in Forsyth, where investigators found a 9mm handgun; the state crime lab determined that the fatal bullet recovered from the crime scene was fired from that gun.

Brewer was booked into the Richland County Detention Facility in Sidney; she has not yet been formally charged. Bail was set at $500,000.

Brewer is scheduled to make her first court appearance at 8:30 a.m. on April 27 in District Court in Sidney.
