GREAT FALLS — Just before 11 p.m. on Thursday, emergency personnel responded to a report that a person may have jumped from a bridge into the Missouri River in Great Falls.
Officers at the scene said that they received a third-hand report that someone jumped or fell into the river.
Responding agencies included the Great Falls Police Department and Great Falls Fire Rescue.
They gathered at a spot on the east side of the river between the 9th Street bridge and the old 10th Street bridge.
In addition to visual searching, the GFPD used a drone to scan the entire area around the bridges from bank to bank.
They were unable to launch a search boat because the river in that area is too icy; at 11:45 p.m., officers at the scene said that they were not able to find any evidence that a person was in the river.
Early Friday morning, the GFPD confirmed that they found no evidence that anybody had jumped or fallen in the river.
