No injuries in Great Falls house fire

(UPDATE) A man and his two pets - a dog and a cat - managed to escape the house without injuries.

No injuries in Great Falls house fire

Great Falls Fire Rescue said in a news release that a platoon battalion chief was the first to arrive on scene, finding smoke venting from the gable ends of the house and fire starting to vent from the roof.

The battalion chief met with the occupant of the house who informed him that he and his dog and cat made it out of the house, and there were no other occupants in the house.

At this time, the house is considered unlivable.

The occupant of the house was provided with information for assistance from the American Red Cross.

The cause of the fire was determined to be the failure of a bathroom ceiling heat lamp and fan.


(1st REPORT) Emergency crews are at the scene of a house fire in Great Falls.

The fire is at a house on the 500 block of Sixth Avenue South, according to Great Falls Fire Rescue.

There is no word at this point on whether anyone has been injured, nor the suspected cause of the fire.

People are advised to avoid the area if possible as emergency crews work to extinguish the fire.
