GREAT FALLS — The Maclean-Cameron Animal Adoption Center celebrated National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day on Friday - all adoptions were only $25.

And if you're not ready or able to adopt a pet, you can still support these dogs and cats by either donating money - or your time.

Misha John, the center's marketing manager, explained, “Even if you can’t take one home, just spending time with them is really good for them. Shelters can be a very stressful environment. We call it enrichment, it’s giving the animals a chance to relax or play and spend humans. They don’t get as much interaction when they’re just in a little condo or kennel.”

She added, "An animal has a conscience too, it has a personality, too, and it has a lot of love to give. Animals don’t really show well in the shelter because they’re out of their comfort zone. They’re just emotionally hurt or scared and they need extra love so that they can get back to a place where they can give that love back.”

The center is located at 900 25th Avenue NE, and the phone number is 406-727-7387. Click here to visit the website to find an adoptable pet or for more information.
