GREAT FALLS — We have received reports of a power outage affecting some people in Great Falls.

According to the outage map on NorthWestern Energy's website there have been outages confirmed in Great Falls with more than 3,000 customers affected as of 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The outage appears to be centered on the west side of Great Falls; one person told us that the traffic lights at Central Avenue West and 3rd Street NW are not working.

From the KRTV Facebook page:

  • Elise McCrea: Our power went out a few minutes ago over here on 16th and 7th Ave NW
  • Kelsey Kopeikin: Yep on 4th Street SW
  • Rebecca Jean McGillis‎: Power is out on 6th Street SW.
  • Kristen Marie: Yes Central Ave West

There is no word yet on the cause of the outage. NorthWestern Energy says that at this point, they expect to have power restored by 12:30 p.m.

We will update you if we get more information.

NOTE: If traffic signals are not working, intersections must be treated as all-ways stop.
