GREAT FALLS — A special breakfast was held at the Young Parents Education Center in Great Falls on Saturday.

Santa Claus was there for kids to have their photos taken, and there were also pancakes, door prizes, games, and a silent auction.

Located in the Paris Gibson Education Center, their mission is to empower teenage and young adult pregnant and parenting students to pursue educational opportunities that lead to independence and self-sufficiency, and to promote positive parenting, enabling their babies to develop to their fullest potential.

YPEC director Shandy Peterson says all they want to do is help: “Thirty-eight percent of teen parents graduate from high school on time and without those wrap-around services that they have here at Young Parents Education Center, it’s really hard for them to complete their education, so we provide family support services, parenting education and childcare."
