GREAT FALLS — Every year, as Christmas approaches, many people spread holiday joy for the simple pleasure of bringing smiles to others - and some people like to do it anonymously, with no concern for being thanked or recognized.

KRTV received a message from a young woman on Thursday who shared her experience with a "secret Santa" of sorts:

Good evening, I would like to remain anonymous if possible but would you guys possibly be able to give a "shout out" of sorts to another "anonymous". There's so much negativity out there and I wanted to share something positive that happened to me today. I received a call this morning letting me know a good samaritan had paid my Great Falls Walmart Christmas layaway balance in full and I could pick up my items! I was just so shocked. I had every intention of picking my items up next week during my final trip of the holiday season to Great Falls. You hear about things like this, but never think about it happening to you. I will absolutely pay this generous act forward this Christmas and I want whoever the "good samaratin" is to know how truly special what they did was, thank them for their kindness and generosity and wish them a very Merry Christmas!

That is similar to a story we posted last week, about a person who anonymously paid off more than $3,000 in layaway for other people at the Walmart in Kalispell.

If you experienced a "secret Santa" recently and want to publicly express gratitude, let us know - send an email to krtvnews@krtv.com.
