Fort Benton mobile home goes up in flames Wednesday night

An official with the Fort Benton Fire Department confirmed to MTN News late Wednesday that one person was inside the mobile home at the time of the incident — the resident was not injured.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Responding agencies also included the Chouteau County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Benton Police Department, according to the official.

FORT BENTON — An explosion at a mobile home in Fort Benton caused the residence to go up in flames late Wednesday evening, according to reports from passersby and neighbors.

One neighbor told MTN in an email exchange Wednesday that an initial blast was heard at the trailer home at 615 Washington just after 6:30 p.m.

The dwelling, according to reports from the neighbor, appears to be a total loss. One passerby, Roxy Brown, captured video of the mobile home while it was ablaze.
